The invitation
What if one year could change everything?
Encounter High is more than a program. It's a place for high schoolers to encounter the living God. Discover who you are in Him, and step into who He's calling you to be. You'll climb Cape Town's mountains, share the gospel on the streets, pray for the sick and watch Jesus show up, and build friendships that last for life. You'll learn to hear His voice, walk in His power, and carry hope into a world that needs it. Whether you're hungry for more of God, ready for adventure, or unsure what's next, this is where you find your identity, your community, and your calling.
Over nine months, students will encounter God, discover who they are and what they’re called to, grow in character and faith, and learn to courageously impact the world around them as lifelong disciples of Jesus. Through a combination of weekly gatherings, discipleship, practical experiences, adventures, retreats, and serving opportunities, students will be challenged to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus while learning to live out their faith in everyday life.
This is not an accredited school or replacement for homeschooling. Instead, Encounter is designed to fit alongside your family’s existing homeschool curriculum—adding the community, discipleship, adventure, and shared experiences that can make the high school years come alive.
Come for a year (or maybe more!). Leave changed.
Outdoor Adventures
Explore God's creation
From surfing Cape Town’s waves to hiking its mountains at sunrise, Encounter invites students to find God in the beauty and adventure of His creation. Throughout the year, students step beyond the classroom and into experiences that challenge them, build deep friendships, develop courage and leadership, and help them discover more of who God created them to be. With the majestic mountains, wild coastline, and vibrant city of Greater Cape Town as our backdrop, every adventure becomes an opportunity to know God more deeply, know themselves more fully, and learn what it means to live boldly with Jesus.

Outreach & Missions
The hands and feet of Jesus
Students learn to carry hope as they engage meaningfully with the world around them, so we partner with beautiful ministries in our city. We have countless opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Along with giving practical help, students have opportunities to take action on the prophetic and healing ministry training they've received. We love seeing Jesus come and do what only He can!
This ministry experience culminates in a week-long mission trip where students put everything they've learned into practice. It's a life-changing experience! (This is optional and is an additional cost)

Socials
A time to build community
High school is a time to build community, and we love to celebrate at Encounter. We start the year with a weekend retreat and have many special events throughout the year including a Youth Day social, the Friendly Feast, and a Graduate Ball. Throughout these events, our focus is walking in Kingdom honor and love for one another.

Curriculum
Dynamic, practical, and hands-on
We train our students to love God and others and carry hope. Each year, the discipleship curriculum is dynamic, practical, and hands-on.
Each student elects their own homeschool curriculum to progress through during the year. We have mentors and optional academic support available in the afternoons to help with any areas the student might need assistance.
